Students in The Upstate who are planning to pursue post-secondary education in the 2019-20 Academic Year can receive free, professional assistance completing the 2019-20 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at my Financial Aid 101 "Boot Camp" Session on Thursday afternoon, January 31, 2018.  The event will be held at The Anderson County (SC) School District 5 Home Office at 400 Pearman Dairy Road, Anderson, SC 29625 starting promptly at 1:30pm.  This session has been designated for graduating Seniors from TL Hanna and Westside High Schools.  If you would like to attend, this is a STUDENT ONLY function, and if you need clearance from your Principal and/or Guidance Counselor, please have them contact me.

Anyone who is planning to pursue a postsecondary education in the 2019-20 academic year should complete the FAFSA. That includes high school seniors, continuing college students, transfer students and adults considering pursuing higher education. The FAFSA form must be submitted in order to be considered for federal and state financial aid, including grants and loans.
Dependent students are encouraged to bring their parents and independent students should bring 2017 records including their 2017 federal tax return and W2s, 2017 untaxed income records such as child support or veteran’s non-education benefits, information on savings, investments, business assets and farm assets (if applicable), driver’s license, Social Security number, alien registration card or permanent resident card (if not a U.S. citizen) and parent information such as date of birth, month and year of marriage, divorce or separation.
A list of what to bring and other information, as well as directions can be be obtained by reaching out to me at (864) 593-0010 or at andrew@aplusfinaid.org. Those who don’t have all of the information available should still attend to get a start on the application.
